NEWTON HIGH steadily worked her way forward between horses and finished well. FLOP EARS began alertly and weakend. PLENTIFUL hung. FLORIDA FLIRT faltered early. BARTHS-BELLE could not keep up. IVY BALL, never was far behind the first flight, steadily made up distance and put away the opposition in the last furlong to win rapidly going away. ESSIE M. raced within easy striking distance, closed well in the drive but was not good enough for the winner. FLYING POLLY was hard pressed sprinting with MOOREA early, was left with a long lead when that one faltered on the far turn but suddenly fattred in the drive. COLETOWN MAID saved ground and bested tiring horses. MOOREA had her usual brief speed and stopped. Overweight— Always Argue, 2 pounds; Moorea, 4. RUGGED BOY was hustled to dispose of KNAVES BID down the backstretch, opened a long lead, but was under heavy pressure while tiring and badly drifting out. HAPPY TUNE saved ground while racing in closest attendance to the winner, could not gain under strong urging, but was clearly best of the others. IM O. PERFECT POWER was rated close to the pace, went to the front on the stretch turn, but could not hold the winner despite vigorous punishment JA£K CARROLL gradually improved his position and finished well without menacing the top pair S0DALE easily set the early pace, but tired. DOC WALKER was smoothly sent after the leaders while racing between horses, wore down VI Dl in the last stages and drew out with authority VIDI held a clear lead while setting the pace, saved all possible ground and weakened only near the end. KHAN was forced back by MR. MIGHTY leaving the gate, was slow to settle into stride, but closed a big gap in the stretch run. GREY HOUR tired. BEE AIR was not a threat. IF I appeared slightly green, showed speed and faltered. DOWN YONDER seemed ouchy. CHASED AGAIN was outrun. MR. MIGHTY Swerved badly at the break and had to be taken up. PLAINFIELD was in contention while racing on the outside, closed resolutely in the stretch run and gradually wore down PHARAS BEAUTY to be up in the final stride. PHARAS BEAUTY dashed into a clear lead soon after the start, held sway evenly into the last sixteenth and gave way stubbornly. FAGA-LA was forced to pick her spots while racing between horses off the pace and closed fast in the final stages. GINGER D. finished well. SINGING BEAUTY weakened. BLUE CASE could not reach the front early, bore out on the turn and tired. TRIBUTE was a keen factor into the stretch, then faltered. TUS ONE alternated in setting and forcing the pace with BRANDY PUNCH for five furlongs, then shook free of that one and responded to persistent punishment in the drive to hold APPEASE NOT safe. The latter was rated within easy striking distance, appeared ready to race to the lead coming to the outside on the stretch turn, but hung. APACHICO was closer to the pace than usual and was beginning to rally when blocked behind tiring horses on the final turn, had to drop back and to the outside, then could not get up. WISE MIKE was in hand while far back, closed a gap on the final turn, but could not carry his speed. JOE-AUSSIE raced wide. QUESTION EIGHT was outrun. RELIC GOLD faltered. PAY WINDOW was unprepared and walked out of the gate, began picking up speed after a half mile, circled the entire field and, closing with a rush, outfinished HIYA-SAILOR. The latter was in hand while on the inside and, occasionally lacking room to improved position, found clear passage from the head of the stretch, then closed stoutly. MOTORIST was light restrained while maintaining a commanding lead into the stretch, but faltered when punished. SECNAV gave an even effort. DR. CRICKETT was outrun. B0L0 MACK quti.
