, 1 Teddy Reigh Out After Third Straight Victory Couch Veteran Meets Four Other Capable Route Runners at Omaha By J. SWEENEY GRANT Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 19.— Oren Couchs Teddy Reigh, champion of the Ak-Sar-Ben plater colony, will be after his third consecutive victory of the meeting when he faces four other capable distance performers in tomororws Count Fleet Purse. Teddy Reigh, nine-year-old gelded son of Sun Teddy and Reigh Helen, accounted for seven straight successes here last year before finally meeting superior performers in one of the more lucrative handicaps. As a result of his two previous triumphs this season, Teddy Reigh will be .asked to carry the top impost of 121 pounds. His opponents in tomorrows mile land 70 yards essay include Alice Likins Tipster; R. J. Hulses First Lite; G. J. Shimas Clara D., and William S. Clines Gus G. Teddy Reigh raced to expectations in his last outing in the Whisk Broom Purse in which he showed the way to a near capacity band of intermediate claimers including First Lite, who again will try to reverse the decision on the Couch racer. Previously, Teddy Reigh had scored in a claiming race against ,000 rivals. Tipster was among his victims in that issue. Teddy Reigh will be ridden by Lawrence Jones and is expected to answer the bugle as the probable odds-on favorite. Tipster, winner of one race here, was second to Teddy Reigh on another occasion. He has the speed to score over tomorrows rivals and his chances would be greatly augmented should the track remain in its present "off" condition. Tipster never fails to come forth with a creditable effort and should he be at his best he could outgame Teddy Reigh for the major portion of the purse. Taylor Powell will have the mount. Clara D. was named to start in the recent Sir Gallahad Purse, but was declared in order to fulfill tomorrows assignment. She has won two races thus far during the meeting. In her second to last engagement she faltered during the stretch run of an allowance test and finished fourth to the well-regarded Trarab and Hustle Gal. The latter holds a victory over Teddy Reigh. Clara D. has been training cleverly since her last start and with Bert Thornton in the saddle must merit considerable attention. First Lite possesses a bit of class and could prove dangerous. The Hulse color-bearer was bested five lengths by Teddy Reigh in their last meeting in the Whisk Broom Purse, but improvement from that effort is expected. William Seger most likely will do the riding. The ever-popular Gus G. has been lightly campaigned here since his arrival from Chicago. He is a superior mud-runner, but has had little opportunity to display his ability over an "off" track as the local oval has been firm and fast throughout most of the meeting. Gus G. was fourth to Sultans Heir in a recent six-furlong sprint event.
