HELEN GRAYSON went to the front at the start, shook off the early challengers when set down for the stretch drive, and gamely withstood RARE ART. The latter was sent between horses to, make his challenge at the head of the stretch, and finished determinedly. PAGE PUG raced prominently placed from the beginning and finished well.- BROOK NYMPH raced on the outside while with the first flight and held on evenly. 0. G. SISTER weakened in the drive. RIDGE REWARD raced in closest pursuit of the top pair and finished well. VERDANT was lightly reserved in a forward position and held on evenly when urged in the drive. E. ARTHUR was not a threat. RUSTY was nicely rated for six furlongs, then responded to prolonged urging in the drive and repulsed HIGH TREND to win going away. The latter raced into a blind switch and had to be taken up on the final turn, was soon clear and lodged a strong bid mid-stretch, then tired. GO BETWEEN raced within striking distance, but lacked a rally. AGRIPPA came from far back. NOSUN was under wraps while racing closest to the pace and suddenly flattened out when put to pressure at the quarter pole. MESTMEATH was forced wide by NOSUN on the first turn and showed nothing. BLUE RHYMER alertly outsprinted her opposition to open a clear lead jn the opening quarter-mile, then steadily increased her advantage when LANDMARK faltered, but was under intermittent punishment and doing her best. The latter was a sharp factor, made a good bid on the final turn and suddenly weakened. OCCUPANCY was unable to untrack herself early, then came between horses in the stretch and closed willingly. BRAZEN BRAT was a keen factor for a half-mile and faltered. PIPING ARMS was not a menace. SINGING BEAUTY appeared not to like the track. MISS NIMBLE quit. Overweight— Miss Nimble, 2 pounds. SUPER LUNAR was urged forwardly placed from a slow beginning, steadily wore down contention and, taking command on the stretch turn, drew away in handy fashion. WHIRLS BELL saved ground to open a clear early lead, held sway to the stretch and faltered. WAR BILL gradually improved position racing on the outside and finished well. FOXALONIA could not stay with the leaders early, but held on fairly well in the drive. MENAWA was a sharp factor for six furlongs and quit. FURRY FRIEND quit. MRS. MAC was not a threat.
