McGRATHIANA raced evenly to the stretch, was sent to the extreme outside for the drive and, responding to vigorous urging, wore down the leaders and won going away. LONOKE FLASH, much used racing BOLARIS into defeat, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, but could not withstand McGRATHIANA. BOLARIS took command early, set the pace until inside the stretch but faltered when challenged by LONOKE FLASH. BADGER gave a good effort and had no excuse. FIRST REFUSAL failed to rally when set down in the drive. SEDGEVIEW lacked early speed. OUR CHALLENGE was outrun. BEANIR established a clear lead entering the stretch, responded to mild urging thereafter and won going away. LORI-JANE, never far back, took "command between calls after the start, gave way to BEANIR before going a quarter mile and could not stay with the latter, although easily best of the others. NATCHEZ GIRL lacked early speed, saved ground during the stretch run, but was unable to threaten the top pair. MILITANT MISS began sluggishly and was never prominent. COLS DAUGHTER, rank during the post parade, made a mild bid nearing the stretch, then gave way. LYSBETH could not keep up. ST. JUDE failed to stay after displaying early speed. DOCTOR HEITZ, in hand to the upper turn, moved up fast entering the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and, disposing of HIT THE SPOT, won going away. The latter, a keen factor from the beginning, entered the stretch with a short lead, continued gamely under urging, but could not hold the top one, although much the best of the others. PRECIOUS STONE had early speed, but tired badly after three-quarters" mile. ALIE-ED drifted out at the final turn and failed to rally whn straightened for the drive. MIRIAMS BOY was outrun. BATTLE HERO tired after racing well to the stretch. SWADELLE was never dangerous. DEEP BLUE tired after racing well to the mile. QUARTERMASTER went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch while engaging ! AMCER, then gave way. GRANDAD raced wide. DOLLYS ROCKET was far back the entire trip.
