MARENGO lacked a rally after being formidable. COLONEL PHIL was unable to attain prominence. HEDDY B. displayed speed and drifted out on the turn. The others failed to enter contention. SAMPAN rallied to wear down the others. MARCATO enjoyed a clear early lead and weakened. EVEREST was within striking distance early and quit. BILLIES GOLD was through early. TAMALE, in close attendance to the early pace, wrested command from the outside and held TENURE safe. The latter broke well behind his field and closed ground steadily in a good effort. ABIDJAN, always formidable, wrested command from SCHEMING WORLD after a half-mile and gave way. The latter set the pace and weakened. BOO BOO SHOO was never a factor. KENSINGTON TED was outrun. MORE BETTER held a favorable position from the start, responded smartly to wear down the leaders and outfinished LADY ADVOCATE. The latter moved with the winner, but was not god enough. MOLLIE FAGAN dueled for the lead into the stretch, showed more tenacity than SIREN SONG, but failed to resist the top pair. The latter saved ground while being hard pressed for the lead and flattened out badly. MARTHAS WAVE could not keep up. BLUE NORKA was outrun. FIFTH RACE 6 FURLONGS out of chute. ADOPTS rally enabled him to wear down ISLE OF BOND. The latter made up ground and went out a mile in 1:41-%. NICKEY W. could not keep pace. POTPOURRI was outrun.
