Giants Edge Cardinals, 3-2, Behind Hearns Six-Hitter NEW YORK, N. Y., June 15 UP.— Manager Leo Durocher resorted to "operation shakewell" and salvaged the final game in a disastrous home stand today as the Giants edged the Cardinals, 3-2, on Jim Hearns six-hit pitching. A seventh inning single by Whitey Lock-man drove Wes Westrom home with the winning run before a crowd of 4,413. The victory was only the sixth in the Giants 16-game home stand. During it, they dropped from five games behind first place 11%.-
