NORTH PENNANT, outrun to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, closing fast under strong handling, wore down KALLUKI in the last strides. The latter, a keen factor from the beginning, took command approaching the stretch and held a short lead when settled for the drive, but was unable to. withstand the top one, just missing. DONQUEST began fast, but dropped back after the start, Worked way forward after the initial quarter mile, but could not reach the top pair, COUNT GALLA, forced to take up sharply when caught in close quarters after the start, raced well when clear and made a good bid in the early stretch, then tired. BLUE NONA lacked early speed. JUST A FOOT weakened after showing early foot. QUEENS MYRTLE was never dangerous. MARY LIKE raced forwardly placed to the stretch, then gave way. FLYING RAID failed to stay after showing brief speed. BLUE FALCON showed nothing. ALLOCATION gave a dull effort. RICKSHAW was through early. MAJOR EVENT moved up fast after beginning sluggishly, closed gamely under urging, but could not get to the winner, although easily best of the others. PEEKIN raced evenly and had no excuse. XALAPA STREAK lacked early speed, but finished well under urgina. SEVENS STAR failed to rally when set down through the stretch. ENGLISH FLIGHT was outrun. MR. ALSIDE began slowly. ADMIRALSCRIPT had early speed, but failed to stay. SUNNYSIDE UP was never prominent. DIVERTIDO raced wide. LILLY VALENTI went to the front early, bore out at the stretch turn and, continuing to drift to the outside during the drive, wore down CHIC C- WAVE, then held SUFFKI safe. The latter, away fast and forwardly placed from the outset, was sent to the Z outside of LILLY VALENTI for the stretch run and, closing fast, could not overtake the latter. THE GINK lacked m early speed, saved ground during the drive and finished fast in a sharp effort. CROWNLET raced wide through — the stretch and failed to rally when set down in the drive. CHIC WAVE raced evenly to the stretch, took com-mand when LILLY VALENTI bore out, but failed to stay. ABISOK was outrun.
