English Jockey Club Fines Capt. Cecil Boyd-Rochfort Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, June 11. Capt. Cecil Boyd-Rochfort, trainer for Queen Elizabeth and several American owners, was fined 80 and reprimanded by The Jockey Club last night as a result of an investigation, into the running of the Winston Churchill Stakes at Hurst Park last Saturday. Boyd-Rochfort trained Premonition, winner of the race, and Osborne, his stablemate, who finished second. The inquiry was conducted to determine if jockey R. Burrows, on Osborne, deliberately eased his mount to let Premonition, the favorite, ridden by Bill Carr, win. The horses are owned by separate interests, but, according to British racing rules they are not coupled in the wagering. The Jockey Club stewards said, in announcing the penalty against Boyd-Rochfort, that he "neglected his responsibilities as trainer in not giving Burrows concise orders in accordance with he rules." The rule states that "every horse which runs in a race shall be run on his merits whether his owner runs another horse in the Tace or not."
