BACKSTAGE WITH THE RIDERS Noted caricaturist John Rouson visited the jockeys room at Belmont Park before Willie Shoemaker departed for the West Coast, sketched a dozen of the riders atnTthen lined them up in the traditional left-to-right order. All can be easily identified, but their names follow Eddie Arcaro, Hedley Woodhouse, Dave Gorman top near window, Willie Shoemaker, Ted Atkinson, Joe Renick, George Hettinger, Willie Boland, Jack Westrope Eric Guerin, Oyie Scurlock and Charlie OBrien.
