The West Saturday will vie with the East for attention of the nations racing public when the Kentucky Derby winner Determine, well on his way to the 1954 Horse of the Year Honors, makes his first 00,000 Californian at a mile and a sixteenth. The Californian may even overshadow in interest New Yorks Belmont Stakes for three-year-olds since at the moment the little gray colt, who will be striking for his ninth, stakes victory of the season, is probably the most popular horse in training. Determine, who flies .the silks of automobile distributor Andy Crevolin will go postward in the Californian accompanied by his older stablemate Imbros, himself a winner of four stakes this season, and many believe they will run one-two. Seven will oppose the Crevolin pair and among them is Mrs. Ada L. Rices Pet Bully, a supplemental nominee who several days ago was flown here from New Jersey.
