Columcille was the fastest horse on the grounds here "last fall and was timed in a sensational 1:10 for six furlongs one afternoon last fall. That was just a fifth of a second over the track record and was the best time at that distance anywhere in the Cleveland area for nearly 10 years. After leaving the Cleveland area last fall, . Columcille was shipped to Maryland where -he performed admirably against such as Joe Jones and Nullify, gaining a third in Bowies Fort McHenry Handicap. This spring after Charles Town, Columcille was raced at Lincoln Downs and once again he came through with flying colors. One of his better races tallied over that track was on April 15 when at odds-on he defeated Go Go Go by nearly six lengths in :59 for five furlongs. Both Shag Tails and Big Money will receive good support. Shag Tails has been inactive since early in the Randall Park meeting of last year,, but has been training smartly and trainer Gentry has been very pleased with his progress. John Nazareth has been named to ride. Big Money ran here at ThistleDown last fall and turned in several excellent races. This one has a world of early foot and may carry it alLthe way. Joe Servis has been named by Gentry to ride the Bull Lea colt. Cross Ring was barely beaten in last weeks Discovery Handicap when he finished second to Lotus Eater, beaten a neck over the muddy strip. Cross Ring " drew clear at the head of the lane, but was unable to hold the Hamar ace in-the final strides to the wire. Cross Ring was a win-, ner of six races last year and will be looking for his third 1954 score on Saturday. Shamrock turned in a strong effort in the Discovery, and after a slow beginning was a fast closing third beaten a neck and a head for all the money. That was his first race here since being shipped from Garden State where he was third in his last start. Wolf Gal gets in the Cleaveland with a feathery burden and could be troublesome.
