Richards Second in Return Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON. England, June 11 Reuters. Sir Gordon Richards rode his first race today since his accident on Misty Night at Salisbury on May 19 but he could not make it a victory to celebrate his return to the turf. Riding in the Sandringham Stakes, 10-furlong event at Sandown Park, Surrey, his mount on the 9-to-4 favorite Sun Festival, was second, 15 lengths behind the 7-to-2 chance, Double Bore. Sir Gordon had a two-length advantage over Toulon, the only other starter. 1
