Marciano Goes Through Extra Sparring Session GROSSINGER, N. Y., June 11 UP. Heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano wasnt supposed to box today but sparred "three or four rounds" because of his poor showing in the ring yesterday. Trainer Charley Goldman said Marciano insisted on boxing today because his spar-mates had made him look so bad in yesterdays workout. "I am not saying how many rounds Rocky worked or with what sparring partners, but if you guessed three or four rounds you would be about on the target," Goldman said. "He looked a little better today but we are hoping that hell get real sharp in Saturdays and Sundays workouts. "Those are his last workouts. If he doesnt sharpen up then, we are in. trouble."
