OLD STANDBLY raced in close attendance of the pace for five furlongs, moved into command, drew clear and faltered. RED PASS rallied from off the pace, going wide on the final turn. MARILU DORSETT saved ground to no avail. JUST FOR YOU flattened out when put to pressure. UNRESTRICTED, forwardly placed under steadying restraint, rallied when roused but was no match for the winner. MARINE GROWTH went along with the early leader, took back slightly after five furlongs, responded when roused but was no match for the winner. JOES CREST, sluggish in the early stages, failed to make up appreciable ground in the drive. SAUGATUCK went evenly. SUSANS PET was never prominent. BUSS UP, kept within striking distance of the leaders, moved to the inside entering the stretch, responded under stout pressure and drew out and held CAN NEDRON safe. The latter, unhurried while settling into best stride, came around horses leaving the backstretch, was forced to lose ground and finished stoutly. INSOMNIA, roused after a half mile, improved his position gradually and was pressing at the end. FIREY RED, never far off the pace, rallied to engage the leader and faltered.
