CONSISTENT SANOLA ♦ Adds Chicago Handicap to Her Large List of Triumphs. • Another Immense Crowd Journeys to Aurora for Excellent Saturdays Program. » AURORA. 111., April 30— Sanola. the sterling and consistent six-year-old mare, which races for the Sanola Stock Farm, added further to her brilliant string of laurels when she triumphed over eight others in the Chicago Handicap, feature attraction on the program at ExjK sition Park this afternoon. Repeating and even bettering her last race, when she was victorious in the Gene Oliver Purse, a similar contest. Sanola distinguished herself among the better class of racers quartered here in the manner in which she scored, leading virtually from the start and never faltering at any stage. Jockey C. K. Allen gave another exhibition of his skill in the saddle, as the ride he gave the winner was faultless, making it a double for him for the afternoon, he having previously piloted Theo. Fay to victory in the third race. Brilliant was first to show in front at the start, but Sanola. under the alert Allen, soon raced into the lead and. outfooting Cilenister II.. her strongest opponent, all the way to the stretch, the ultimate winner then gradually drew away and came to the finish winner by two and one-half lengths, showing no signs of distress after the sinew-straining struggle. Brilliant raced in third I osition most of the way. but retired in the stretch. Captain IXman then taking up the cha.se of the leaders and the latter, with a final rush near the end. just got up in the final strides to beat Jlenister II. by a nose for second place. Balboa and Iron Mask II.. two of the starters for which there was much attention and which were expected to cut a considerable figure in the running here, were outrun most of the way and were never very much in the picture. ENJOYABLE RACING. The already high standard of atten-.lance which has been in evidence at Aurora during the current meeting was considerably enhanced this afternoon by :tn excellent gathering of half-holiday racegoers and an increase in the amount of speculation. The public was treated to an afternoon of speculation and interesting sport and enjoyed the success of landing on the majority of the winners when the favorites again cut quite a figure among the winners, although some surprises occurred which upset caculations somewhat in some instances. Ideal weather conditions prevailed, though the track was still heavy. However, this did not detract from the caliber of the sport provided. A pronounced choice scored in the third race to the delight of his many followers and won in a manner to bring horse and rider loud applause when the finish was reached. Theo. Fay. under the experienced guiding of jockey ". E. Allen, was carefully nursed along in the lead until the far turn was reaxhed. where the son of Theo. Cook then began to draw away. At one point in the stretch the eventual winner was racing five lengths clear of his nearest rival and his rider, realizing that the race was won, eased his mount up and landed home a length to the good over Ipdike. which closed with a burst of speed to take second place. Tormentor, after a creditable race, wound up third. ANOTHER FOR RISIIEF.. The lA»ne Star Stables Rushee. showing a decided liking for the heavy going, accounted for another purse when she was returned the winner in the opener. Her success made it three wins for the daughter of Westy Hogan — Sun Shower at this course this year. Aleto gave MM of her best efforts and took the place, while Disciple again hail to be ontent with third money after being in the b-ad in the stretch. VVildrake, Monastery and Miss Nantura each were prominent in the early running and showed speed, but came to grief when the stretch va reached and tired from their early efforts. C. N. Freemans Power annexed her second purse of the meeting when she easily defeated the ones she was called upon to meet over the five ami a half furlongs of the »»econd race. Meddling Beta showed vast improvement :,iid led his field until an eighth away from the finish but began tiring and sue ] MCoad place. William Diggins was best of the others and took third place. Pegg ». one of the hoi.es. did not perform up to expectations and was a disappointment. Jack Knight and Kasha cut a considerable figure in the earls racing but lout nuie l *e nYMlliclh vatfe. CONSISTENT SANOLA Continued from first page were spent by the time the stretch was reached and finished unplaced. P. Reuters five-year-old Clique found his best form during the running of the fourth race and, in a driving finish, had the better of a stiff argument with Panorel and The Abbot. The Abbot, heavily lacked, flattered his backers with a show of early speed, which carried him in the lead of his opponents for the first half mile, but when the stretch racing came, the leader had little in reserve to stall off the challenges of Panorel and Clique. Midway of the stretch, Panorel, racing on the inside of the leaders, took the lead from The Abbot and looked the winner. Clique was taken to the outside of the others and when ridden hard soon overhauled Panorel and was drawing clear at the end, a handy winner. Panorel held on to outstay The Abbot for second place. W. R. Padgetts Treasurer became a double winner of the meeting when he showed consistency and repeating his last good race again, scored an easy victory over some good platers which met in the sixth over a mile and a sixteenth route. Cleverly ridden by jockey L. McClair, Treasurer raced in the rear of the early leaders under restraint until the stretch was reached and, rounding the turn, slipped over to the inside and. when the leaders made a wide turn, he came through into the lead and easily held command during the last three-sixteenths to win easily at the end.
