I j , ] - t. j Abstract, Lambent Finish In Dead Heat at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 23. — So close was the finish of the Faneuil Hall Handicap at Suffolk Downs this afternoon that it took over five minutes for the picture to be examined, with the result a very favorable dead -heat for the front end between Cobbles Stables Abstract and Double M Farms Lambent. Three lengths back of the dueling leaders, Anthony Cataldos T i 1 e n n y closed stoutly to take a neck decision for the show award from Kajo Stables Blue Thanks. Bar -Sue Stables Outland, the tepid choice in the first renewal of the stake, finished a half length back of the money position. An overcast sky with light showers intermittently scattered throughout the afternoon failed to dampen the spirits of the 20,100 patrons. The majority of the crowd kept its position on the vast apron during the squalls and in the feature forgot about the inclement weather as they voiced their applause to the stirring stretch battle. Those who backed Abstract received .00 while the backers of Lambent were paid .00. Time for the mile and one-sixteenth test was 1:45, over the track which was still termed fast de- spite the rain.
