Close to 200 Horses Journey To Narragansett for Meeting PAWTUCKET, R. I., June 25.— -The presence in the Narragansett Park barns almost a week before the start of the 24-day summer meeting on Monday, June 30, of approximately 200 horses from outside the New England area is striking evidence of the success of the tracks efforts to bring new stables to the racing scene here. Still more racing strings from the New York tracks, the Jersey circuit, Delaware Park and from Kentucky are expected before the meeting starts. The infusion of these newcomers with the horses that have been campaigning in New England all season will provide a marked increase in the competition for the rich stake and purse program which Narragansett has ready for the horsemen. The largest string of invading horses is that of Henry S. Clark who has brought in 22 horses from Delaware Park. Other horsemen shipping from Delaware are J. P. Sallee with 10, "Irish Jimmy" Stewart with 9, Raymond B. Archer 20, Pranking Moon 5, Joseph P. Hall 2, Dan Chamblin 10, Jim Arthur 11 and Jim Rowan 6.
