ANOTHER TRIUMPH FOR ABEL Orthoprism Proves Best in Kings Birthday Program at Thorncliffe - Weather Clears Up. : TORONTO, Ont, June 3. Orthoprism, a useful three-year-old son of Bucellas and Prismatic", which races for Mrs. A. J. Abel, claimed this spring in Maryland, scored; a clean-cut victory over four . others in the-Lovetie Claiming Purse, the mile and a sixteenth feature of the Kings Birthday .program witnessed by 8,000 at Thorncliffe Park this afternoon Mrs. A. E; Alexandras Just Fun, formerly in the Abel xetinue, was second and J. H. Blacks Plain Ben third. Apprentice Herb Lindberg furnished a well-judged ride astride the winner. He rated, the Bucellas colt of f the early pace set by Plain Ben to the stretch. Taking his mount to the outside, he engaged the tiring Plain. Ben and the tenacious Just Fun at the furlong post and drew away in the final sixteenth to win by two lengths. Just Fun, which was claimed back but of the race by Mrs. A. J. Abel for ,000, attended Plain Bens pace, took a brief lead inside the furlong post,- but- was no match for the winner in the final sixteenth. Though the afternoons racing opened up under threatening skies, the sun broke through the clouds after the, third race and the overhead conditions became pleasant for the large crowd. The track remained fast despite light showers after the noon hour.
