NELLIE BANE saved ground on the lower turn, raced LANS ALICE into the ground and held on well. WONDER RUN moved into contention on the outside and finished gamely. LANS ALICE showed early speed. STEP LIZ, showing good speed in the going, was rushed into a long lead on the inside and easily held the field safe. FIRST GENERAL broke slowly and was forced to race" wide to enter contention. He moved up gamely in the stretch and was going well at the end. OUR ETHEL, well placed throughout, held on well, though tiring. The latter improved his position gradually on the outside and, finishing gamely, was wearing the winner down. JACK B., in close quarters early, gained steadily in the final quarter mile. AURICA, away slowly when her rider was caught napping at the post, was not hustled in the early part. Sheclosed gamely in the final quarter mile. PARNELL PIRATE tired badly. TOE CLOUD was outrun.
