LADY MARLBORO, rated behind the early pace of the leaders, came to the outside entering the stretchV wore down IMADUD and was going away at the finish. IMADUD, rated within reach of the leaders in th early racing, saved ground on the inside, secured racing room on the rail entering the stretch to get to thj front, but could not yithstand the challenge of the winner. BROADWAY MISS, sluggish in the first stags gradually improved her position and closed well. ROCKROMA raced evenly and finished well. PARMA VIOLET had good early speed, saved ground, but tired. RIVEN SCEPTRE was hustled to the front on the back stretch, was rated in front thereafter and saved ground, but had to be kept under pressure to the end. EDWARD, forced wide in the early stages, came to the outside entering the stretch and closed well. LADY COYNE had good early- speed, saved ground and held on well. ROCKVALE broke fast, but dropped out of contention, gradually improved her position and closed well. JUDGE ROCK raced evenly, but lost ground when forced to race wide. EXHIBITION in the first flight from the beginning, raced to the outside entering the stretch and closed fast,, but was no match for the winner. YOUR FLAG, always forwardly placed, made a bid on the turn, but tired in the drive. HOOLIGAK raced evenly, but tired. RANCHERO could never improve his position. PLAIN BEN, breaking from the outside, had good early speed, reached the front in the run to the first turn, was rated in the lead throughout and, saving, ground, had no excuse. " FRIGID FROSTY moved into contention on the outside in the. first quarter mile, was rated behind the pace into the stretch, but could not threaten when called upon. HAPPY, WARRIOR had good arly speed, took command early, saved ground throughout, but could not withstand the bid of the winner though lasting to hold GRANITE ROCK safe. The latter, a trailer in the early racing, moved up .fast through the stretch and just failed to take second place. BOLD BENDIGO finished well from a slow, beginning.
