HOLDUM BROWN, beginning quickly and having good speed, took a short lead while under light restraint entering the stretch, came away when shaken up, but had to be hard urged in the late stages. TOROLEE if.ovcd up fast on the extreme outside in the first quarter and was under strong pressure in the stretch. RUSHAWAY, far out of it for a half mile, improved his position with a rush on the outside and swerved to the inside in the last fifty yards. CEILING was racing nicely when RUSHAWAY crossed in front of him nearing the finish. SUN VOTER also was cut off by RUSHAWAY. SIR JIM JAMES raced well. VICE VERSA began slowly and raced wide. Won driving; second and third the same. CIVILIAN, away in motion, forced the early pace under light restraint, gradually wore down LOVE SICK and, holding on well under strong handling, withstood a bid from NIGHT FLOWER. The latter, a strong factor from the beginning, raced wide throughout and, finishing with determination, was wearing down the winner nearing the end. LOVE SICK, rushed into command, tired after reaching the final eighth. BEHEMOTH, taken up sharply as COIN fell, raced wide in the last three-eighths, but closed strongly. STOUT HEART began slowly. GLODAZZ, also away in motion but unable to keep up, was taken to the outside sharply as COIN went down and was not a contender thereafter. ALBERT D. raced wide. COIN was racing well up when she fell. FLIGHT OF GOLD, slow to respond to pressure and forced to lose some ground, came with a rush in the final eighth and got a close decision. SPICATE, slightly unprepared at the start and probably best, also went sluggishly for five-eighths, then responded boldly and was unlucky to lose. CHEERUS had the most speed, raced wide in the early stages, but was on the inside in the final quarter and weakened after five-eighths, but only gave way in the closing strides. RICKEY ROO saved ground throughout and wpakened in the drive. KWAMUDI raced well. FREEMAN lacked speed. PROPOSING was outrun. Scratched 10481 Mae Luby, 105. Overweight Chcerus, 1 pound. Won driving ; second and third the sarhet . - DARK SEEKER, away .fast and saving much ground the first five-eighths, alternated with SECRET TRYST in the early pacemaking, swerved out while coming away under strong riding in the final eighth, but just lasted. POLYPHOTE, in close quarters soon after the start and brought to the extreme outside in the stretch, closed with fine speed and barely failed to get up. SECRET TRYST had speed from the start, was forced wide by the winner in the final eighth, then weakened. GAY BANNER lost ground throughout and showed a fine effrrt. HIGH BOTTOM raced well. SEA EAGLE closed stoutly on the outside. OUR DAVID, well up from the start, went to the inside in the stretch and tired in the late stages. PRINCE SULIEMAN quit. HAGGERSON was outrun. WEST MAIN, mildly shaken up approaching t he turn but slow to respond, began to make up ground after racing wide on the stretch turn, disposed of BOLD LOVER and SWEEPING LIGHT in rapid succession, but tired in the last fifty yards and was vigorously ridden out. SWEEPING LIGHT, close up after the first quarter, lost ground on the turn, worked his way to the front gradually and held on well, but was not good enough. BOLD LOVER saved ground throughout, raced .to the front with a rush, but faltered in the final drive. GUSTO made up ground. PAPER PROFITS tired badly- in the stretch. LADY ROCKLEDGE showed poor form. LADY LA MARNE had no excus. BLAMELESS, was forced back oh the far turn and quit badly when, clear.
