f AGAWAM TURF NOTES t s Eddie B. Parsons vanned in from Belmont Park with Who. The latter is a full sister to the good horse Sir Quest and is owned by William Shuman. Johnny Taral, son of the famous English rider, Fred Taral, accompanied Mr. Parsons. Trainer J. J. Krug arrived from Belmont Park with three head. H. D. Cox checked in from Chicago with four head of his own while in the same shipment came two, the property of L. L. Chalmers. Jockey Joe OMalley, the veteran rider, will handle the stable entries during the meeting. Jockey H. Tinker joined the riders colony, j Chas. Loeffer will handle Tinkers book during the meeting. The latter will ride at 107 pounds. Bernard F. Fitzgibbon, late of Radio Station YINS. New York, has been engaged to handle the public address system during the thirty-seven-day meeting. John Purcell Turner and William Shrew-bridge arrived from Baltimore to join the official family. Apprentice jockey A. Cooper, star rider at the Narragansett meeting, accompanied the stable of William Weant. Presiding steward George F. Browne, Jr. came on from his home in Baltimore and immediately assumed his official duties supervising the applications of owners and trainers, likewise the jockeys licenses. Donald Hay, Sr., chief keyman for Mortimer Mahony, held roll call and dress rehearsals of the various departments then pronounced all the "tote" machines ready to handle the opening day crowd.
