WOODBINE PARK NOTES I ; S Due to a shortage of apprentice riders, only one horse is listed on Wednesday to run with the five pound allowance. J. Mc-Cann is the only youngster registered with the I. C. R. A. enjoying the "bug" allowance. Track superintendent McCarthur at Thorn-cliffe Park reports that shipments are reaching the Leaside course daily to await the opening of the meeting on June 2. There are over 100 horses quartered on the grounds at present, with others expected to be transferred from Detroit and Woodbine in the next twenty-four hours. The C. Smythe stable was augmented by the arrival of Playful Boston and Swiftlet from Narragansett Park. The additions to the Smythe barn reached here shortly before the first race Tuesday. William R. Woollatt, general manager of Thorncliffe Breeders Association, was an arrival from Windsor, Ontario, and will make final preparations for the opening of the Thorncliffe Park meeting on Tuesday, June 2. Woollatt reports a heavy demand for stabling accommodations at the Leaside plant and that a flattering array of nominations have been received for the Prince of Wales Plate renewal, ,500 feature, one of the principal attractions of the seven-day meeting. William Levy has a full sister to Miss Dolphin, winner of the Victoria Stakes, in his five-year-old mare, Stirred Up. The latter is in training at Woodbine, although it is likely that Levy will dispose of the mare before long to one of several bidders who considrr the daughter of Stimulus arid Tina-mou as a likely prospect for breeding purposes. Sackful, a two-year-old in the C. Smythe stable, came out of her race on Monday with bucked shins. Jockey Pat Remillard has afixed his signature to a contract to ride during the Canadian racing season for C. S. Madison of Buffalo, N. Y. There are ten members in the stable at present, headed by Cherry .Stone, a former star in the A. G. Vanderbilt barn. D. W. McKinley has charge of the string and hopes to replenish the unit by the purchase of horses at one of the leading tracks across the border. The following horses will be placed on the outside list by starter Rowe whenever they are engaged: Feudal Lord, Herowin, Dream Kiss, Background, Broadcaster, Stormer, Grand Duchess, Shoeless Joe, Kid Glove and Gay Sympathy.
