EIGHT OCLOCK was kept in a forward position du"ng the early running, responded to severe pressure in the final eighth and wore down the leaders in the final drive. THE WINK raced greenly while showing high speed and assumed a brief lead, but hung in the final drive. RISE AND SHINE improved her position steadily and closed with good courage on the inside. RELIANT swerved toward the inside when placed under pressure after going a quarter mile. YETIVE showed a cood effort all the way. HOOK IT was bothered slightly at the start when bumped by RAVENNA. MILES AWAY raced greenly. SPOTLESS turned in a good effort. GLEAMING and DIVIDED SKIRT bumped each other after the break and MANDAS BABY was caught between them. WHAT HAVE YOU was rushed into the lead from a slow beginning and jumped well throughout, was taken under restraint when THE STAG II. assumed command, drew away again the final turn of the field", but was hard ridden at the end to stall off CHALICE. The latter jumped well and under restraint on the flat, moved into contention with determination when called upon and finished fast. LITTLE DAN was outrun the first turn of the field and made up ground slowly over tired horses. DANIEL SOOT jumped well and was rated along steadily, moved up when called upon, but was bothered by the riderless THE STAG II. from the twelfth to the fifteenth fence and quit badly thereafter. ROCKWOOD broke well but stumbled shortly after the start, improved his position steadily under pressure and finished well on the inside. COURT SCANDAL was steered to the outside after going an eighth, made a determined bid under pressure, but faltered at the end. MILL POND raced forwardly all the way and had no mishaps. PICCOLO followed the early pace under steady restraint, moved up under pressure rounding the far turn on the outside, disposed of JAIR and outlasted GOLDENEYE in the final drive. The latter, outrun early, improved his position on the inside and found clear racing room in the stretch, then finished with determination. QUEL JEU was taken under restraint when outrun in the early stages, moved up with a rush entering the stretch, but faltered in the final drive. GALLANT PRINCE, on the inside and bothered slightly in the early running, made a determined bid in the stretch and closed resolutely. CHANCE RAY was taken under restraint early and faltered when called upon in the stretch. WAR EMBLEM, fractious at the post, had no mishaps. JAIR showed a flash of early speed, but quit badly. BLEU broke well but was outrun, improved her position under pressure and finished stoutly. UGANDA came to the outside in the stretch and finished with a rush. SISTOVA dwelt slightly at the start, moved up fast on the outside, but was in close quarters between the leaders nearing the eighth post.
