SHARE TOP WEIGHT HONORS Chanceview, Billy Jones and Corinto Assigned 116 Pounds for Decoration Day Handicap at Cicero. CICERO, 111., May 26. W. Burkes Chanceview, T. C. Wordens Billy Jones, and Mrs. Emil Denemarks Corinto were assigned top impost of 116 pounds by handi-capper Julius G. Reeder for the ,000 added Decoration Day Handicap, mile and a sixteenth contest which is to be decided at Hawthorne Saturday afternoon. The stake, which will headline the holiday program, closed with twenty-one nominations and gives promise of bringing together the most representative field of thoroughbreds that have faced the starter since the inauguration of the metropolitan racing season in the Chicago section. In the event that trainer J. J. Flanigan decides to send the four-year-old son of Chance Shot Lookup postward for the stake, it will mark his initial appearance of the season in Illinois, as the bay gelding has been rested since the close of the Arlington Downs spring session. Corinto, the other highly regarded by the handicapper, had an outing in the Hawthorne Inaugural, a sprint of six furlongs under an impost of 120 pounds, and failed to show a creditable performance. However, the son of Wildair Paloma should be better suited by the mile and a sixteenth route than was the case in the dash of last Saturday. Corintos record for 1936 is an impressive one, he having finished outside the money only three times in twelve starts, winning four and finishing second five times, and the geldings best performances came in races at a mile or over. The lowest weights assigned were given Mrs. F. M. Grabners Spanish Babe and the Shandon Farms Sandstone, each being scheduled to pack ninety-eight pounds if they fulfill the stake engagement.
