LONMEG, a strong factor from the start and on the outside, responded to good urging in the stretch and withstood TRAHISON. The latter moved up fast after a half mile, repeatedly bothered CHILIAD during the run through the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. CHILIAD, never far back and on the inside, Was blocked by TRAHISON when attempting to drive between the leaders in the stretch, but held on gamely. GRAY PORTE, rushed into a good lead early, was put to strong urging when threatened, but tired rapidly in the drive. ODERIC raced wide. CONTRARY quit. RED GARTER was outrun. OVER YONDER sprinted into a clear lead early, was put to good urging when challeneed and tired in the last eighth. TRANSIT LADY tired after improving her position., WiTSON quit. The latter rushed into the lead early, drew away after five sixteenths, swung wide entering-the stretch and tired near the end. HOMER L., away slowly and outrun for a half mile, was sent to the outside of the field entering the stretch and finished fastest. FAIR TIME, under strong handling from the start, tired after offering a bold bid approaching the final eighth. CAPITALIST, never far back, moved up fast in the stretch, but tired. LOVITO began, from outside of the stalls, and a strong factor from the start, was squeezed back after five-sixteenths, improved her position when clear, bore over when taking command in the stretch and tired. NANKIN, never far back, tired after offering a mild bid entering the stretch. ALL NIGHT came over sharply at the start set a good pace under hustling tactics and was forced back when tiring in the stretch. PHALAROPE quit. Overweight Nankin, 1 pound.
