0,000 FUTURITY OBJECTIVE Knight Gallant 1,500 Brook-meade Yearling Purchase, Reserved for Rich Race. Knight Gallant, which Mrs. Isabel Dodge Sloane purchased for 1,500 for her Brook-meade Stable at the Saratoga yearling sales last fall, is to be reserved for the 0,000 Arlington Futurity it was learned here Tuesday in a message from trainer B.obert A. Smith. The son of Sir Gallahad III. Anatasia, whose next dam, Marguerite, produced Gallant Fox, the greatest horse yet sired by the French stallion, scored by eight lengths in his recent graduation effort and trainer Smith promptly decided to reserve him for his richer and more important engagements, the first of which is the Arlington Futurity. Two years ago the Brookmeade Stable made a strong bid for victory in the local Futurity with Special Agent, but that colt didnt get away any too smartly and finished a close third back of Toro Nancy and St. Bernard. He also was by Sir Gallahad m., whose son Hadagal was runner-up in the 1933 running, which was won by Far Star. The Brookmeade Stable usually is represented at Arlington and Smith already has reserved stalls for a division of the stable this year. Two years ago Cavalcade was quartered at the north side course throughout the thirty-day meeting and captured the Classic. Cavalcades nomination to the Stars and Stripes and Arlington Handicaps is expected, along with that of Good Goods and other prominent mehibers of the extensive Brookmeade Stable. George Wbolf, long a favorite jockey with Chicago racing enthusiasts, is the heavy weight rider for the stable, and Mike Corona, New York youth, does the light weight riding.
