WARNING TO JOCKEYS DETROIT, Mich., May 26. A notice was posted in the jockeys room today by the stewards warning all rider:, that they must not only ride away straight from the post, but that they must be clear of other horses in the race before coming across to the rail. The notice reads: "This warning particularly applies to starts in front of the stand and any possibility of crowding at the first turn. Their attention was called to the rule that the leading horse is entitled to whatever position on the track its rider may choose, provided he does not interfere with any other horse, but that once having taken that position he must keep it, and that shouldering of horses through the stretch or bearing over to the inside for the purpose of intimidating riders coming up on the rail will not be tolerated. Any rider failing to keep his position in the stretch will be punished, whether a foul is committed or not."
