MY MODEL followed SILVER BANQUET closely to the stretch, then moved up to easily take command and drew into a long lead in the last eighth. COLONEL B. B., off in a tangle, was badly outrun to the stretch, then came very fast on the inside and would have been dangerous with better racing luck. SWEETEST HEART closed ground steadily and barely missed second place. BOURBON DARLING tired a trifle near the finish. SILVER BANQUET quit badly. LITTLE HANK closed much ground. NO DOUBT, close up from the start, was hard ridden through the last eighth to catch TWO TRICKS near the end and win in a drive. TWO TRICKS was hustled to the front soon after the start and, holding on gamely under urging, barely missed. BANKER CONARD improved his position steadily on the inside and was going well at the finish. PORTFOLIO raced well up on the outside. BELLE MYSTERY closed some ground. QUIVER lacked early speed and was permitted to race to the outside fence while making her move. JUST IMAGINE attempted to pull herself up soon after the start and would not extend herself. HEDON tired in the stretch and could not resist the winner. EPINEL made the early pace and tired at the end. SHASTA BANNER closed ground steadily and was going well at the finish. BRONC RIDER made up ground, although forced to race wide. MILES STANDISH tired. OTRA VEZ and CARLUE were outrun all the way. EARLY HOUR broke well, but soon dropped out of it. DUNLIN LADY began slowly and had little chance. LINDEN TREE lost all chance when he was taken up when in close quarters in the back stretch. CRESTA RUN lacked early speed, but closed ground steadily in the Final quarter. TOO BUSY could not keep up and was never dangerous. OPIUM tired unexpectedly in tht stretch. CHAGRIN quit badly. RIPOSO raced to the front at once, carried LITTLE URCHIN to the extreme outside when the latter challenged around the stretch turn, then quickly cut to the inside and held sway to the finish. MOPECO came strongly after entering the stretch and, despite meeting with interference , from .LITTLE URCHIN at midstrctch, raced well to the finish. LITTLE URCHIN was in close quarters on the inside of LANTY BOY in the back stretch and appeared about to go to the front when he was carried out by the winner. CARSONO showed a fair effort.
