MY TOMMIE, well placed in the early running, came to the outside in the stretch, finished gamely in the closing eighth and wore down DONNACONA KID. The latter forced a good pace, raced into a short lead in the last eighth and held on gamely in the drive, but could not withstand the winner. ALMA DELLA broke greenly, worked her way up gradually and finished gamely. BILLY MOLE showed good speed in the pacemaking, but quit badly in the drive. DEVONADE showed early speed. TORCHEEN slipped through on the inside on the turn, took command entering the stretch and held on gamely. FREEZE finished gamely. WHISTLING BOY forced the early pace, swung wide entering the stretch and tired in the last eighth. LANS ALICE showed good early speed, but quit badly in the last eighth. BOBBY SWEEP, under slight restraint early, took command on the back- stretch, drew away into a good lead, but tired badly in the last eighth. HAGGERSON elosed gamely. MIKE REYNOLDS quit. MY IDEAL, sent into the lead at the first turn, was steadied along in front for the first mile and held on gamely in the drive. SHADY WOOD showed a good effort. BABOO tired. BOLD LOVER, in close quarters early, was forced to case back on the lower turn, came to the outside of SERAPHIC KNIGHT in the stretch, took a short lead, but could not withstand the winners rush. HEART BREAK, on the outside during the early running, dropped back slightly entering the stretch, came on again in the final eighth and was going gamely v at the end.
