pHAWTHORNE TURF NOTES s Charles W. Bidwell leaves Saturday for Detroit for a stay of several days on business matters. Countess Mario, recently acquired along with Dainty Jeanne by Mrs. Rex Cooper, makes her bow under the Cooper silks at Hawthorne Friday. Nominations for the ,000 added Hawthorne Juvenile Handicap, for two-year-olds and to be run at six furlongs on Saturday, June 6, close Saturday, May 30, with racing secretary J. G. Reeder. A fast and representative field is seen for the stake. Dr. G. B. McKillip reporting the horse ill, Veeks was excused from the fourth race Thursday. Millsdale Stables Ttennob, which has been out of training since March, is to remain in Kentucky until fall, according to A. Pelleted, trainer of the Millsdale establishment. Before leaving Louisville, Pelleted had Ttennob and seven others transferred to Golden Maxim Farm where they will run out until fall. Pelleteri has twenty-eight at Hawthorne. Mrs. E. Denemarks Higher Cloud is through racing for the year and after being unsexed will be turned out at the Denemark farm. Owaller and Nectarine are two others in the Denemark stable going to the farm for the summer. B. S. Michell, the Denemark trainer, regards the juvenile Owaller as one of the fastest he has trained but the youngster, a daughter of Blackwood, is unsound. C. W. Pershall and his family are motoring here from their home in Granite City, 111., for Saturdays holiday racing at Hawthorne. Pershall has Judge Leer, Naughty, Charlie Chan, Thistle Genie and Honorary at Hawthorne under former jockey Tommy Root.
