Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third the same. CROP moved into the lead at the start, drew away into a safe lead and had speed in reserve at the end. GROUND OAK swerved in and out during the early stages and out finished the others, but could not menace the winner. MAZURKA closed with determination on the outside after racing well. NEBRASKA CITY swerved to the inside at the start and then bore over toward the outside, but finished well on the inside at the end. DONALD DUCK raced evenly throughout. AMAGANSETT moved into command after the break, showed speed, jumped well and had speed in reserve under restraint at the finish. POSTMAN HOME, outrun for the first turn of the field, improved his position slowly, but outfinished DANIE BOY for the place. The latter, a forward factor from the start, was roused after taking the final fence and came again at the end. ABENAKI made several bad landings and was outrun throughout. EASTERN SHORE made a bad landing at the seventh fence and fell on the flat, then BRIAR BLUE fell over him. ESCAPADE fell at the ninth fence. MANATELLA, close up in the early stages, was bothered when DRAWBRIDGE bore over slightly, but then hung under urging. GOLDEN THOUGHT raced greenly. WHITE SAND and THAT ONE wore outrun. REDLEY improved his position steadily under mild urging from a slow beginning, was placed under pressure in the stretch and closed well. FLUTON was rushed into command after the break, showed good speed, raced VELVET MASK into defeat and then tired in the final eighth. DEFLATE was in close quarters in the early running and was forced back, then improved her position when clear and finished well. DISCOURSE, fractious at the post, raced evenly all the way. CONQUER was bothered rounding the far turn, but finished well under urging. SUN ASIA showed early speed and held on well. FAIR DEAL stumbled after going a sixteenth, recovered and finished well.
