PRAIRIE KING dashed to the front at once to take a good lead and, gamely withstanding the challenge of BALD EAGLE in the stretch, drew away again near the finish. BALD EAGLE moved up strongly on the outside of the winner rounding the stretch turn, then made a strong bid, although forced a trifle wide by the latter and tired near the end. BUD SMITH improved his position and was going well at the end. CLARICE McCLAIN was never a serious contender. CINDYS LINDY soon dropped out of it. CHARMING MISS unseated and injured "her rider previous to the start, showed speed witli a substitute jockey in the saddle, but tired badly in the stretch. WELL DRESSED also tired. ZEBULO was outrun early, but came fast through the stretch in the middle of the track. MORALE moved up dangerously after saving ground approaching the stretch turn, but hung in the final drive. CLOUD DOR acted badly at the post and was off none too wcil, but came very fast in the last quarter and, although forced to race wide in the stretch, caught LINDEN TREE, to win going away under pressure. LINDEN TREE, benefited by better riding, dashed in front after going an eighth and held on fairly well in the final drive. LADY MARLBORO improved her position and was going well at the finish. BOILING POINT made up some ground, although seemingly was not at its best. HAROLD H. was used up racing with LINDEN TREE and quit badly. UNCLE FRED closed ground. GATEWAY could not keep up. The latter, a slow beginner, dropped back early, but made a strong run in the last quarter and was gaining rapidly at the end. MISS KIEV showed much improvement over her recent effort and also finished well. SCRIP MONEY raced wide around the first turn and, used up getting to the front of the winner, had little left.
