LEADING AMERICAN TRAINERS Hirsch Jacobs Saddles Twenty-Three Winners in One Month and Takes the Lead. Hirsch Jacobs, by saddling twenty-threQ winners since April 28, just one month ago" took the lead among American trainers with a big margin over his nearest rival, A. G. Tarn, who has steadily held the lead during the early months of the year. Tarns record during the past month, however, was his poorest showing for the like period since the season began on January 1. The Winnipeg owner and trainer only saddled six winners, now having a total of forty-eight. Jacobs total is sixty-three. Robert McGarvey also slowed up considerably when he only added five winners to his credit during the month. J. H. Stotler, the Vanderbilt trainer, enjoyed much success when he added sixteen winners to his record.
