FITTER bore to the outside before working her way clear in the run to the turn, was taken back sharply on the turn, rallied strongly when straight in the stretch and won drawing out. MONDORF, under strong riding from the start, reached the lead approaching the stretch and held on well, but was not good enough to head the winner. GALLANT EAGLE, badly jostled about early, raced well when clear and held on with good courage. BROWN PRODIGY closed boldly in a fine effort. WESTERN SLOPE, in close quarters early, showed speed, but tired in the late stages. NEVER TIRE displayed good early speed. NATIONS TASTE suffered interference and appeared to bear out on the turn. KAPADO, away slowly and rushed to the front on the inside, increased his advantage under mild urging when approaching the stretch and easily held sway thereafter. SAINTE DESPOIR, given an energetic ride, could not menace the winner, but held on fairly well. UNCLE MIKE suffered a hard fall before reaching the post, was crowded back approaching the turn and came through on the inside in the stretch, but could not get to the leaders. WOODWAY had no mishaps and tired badly. MASKETIER failed to keep up. HARRY RICHMAN showed little. Overweight Ranicilla, 5 pounds. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE. Myrtlewood, Sept. 7, 1935 1:10 3 115. RED FLYER took command under strong riding, was steadied around the turn and, continuing well when again under pressure in the final quarter, held GOOD CHEER safe. The latter, forced to lose much ground, improved his position gradually the first throe-eighths and closed well, but did not endanger the winner. GOLD THORN was between horses on the turn, quickly shook off CORIDA and LITTLE DUKE when entering the stretch, but could not improve his position thereafter. UNKIE TOM closed with good speed. ENGELIC MONK was taken back sharply on the turn and STOLEN COLOR ran up on his heels. MY SURPRISE tired. LITTLE DUKE and CORIDA quit. INSCONA, going in his best form and rushed into command, bore out approaching the turn, where he was taken under restraint and, responding to pressure when straight in the stretch, held INFIDOX safe to prove a handy winner. The latter, steadied along for a half mile, held on well, though failing to seriously threaten the winner. DORAN, rank at the post, began well, but failed to hold the advantage and closed stoutly, wearing down SANGREAL in the last sixteenth. The latter, on the inside throughout, was under strong riding the final three-eighths, and held on creditably, though failing to withstand DORANS challenge. HEADLINER raced wide. CHANCEVIEW, forced to overcome slight interference and a big loss of ground, was under strong restraint until reaching the final three-eighths, where he bettered his position gradually and, after wearing down BILLY JONES, drew out fast. The latter, taken over soon after the start, displayed fine speed in the pacemaking and, placed to pressure after reaching the final quarter, held on well to the last seventy yards before tirine. CARVOLA, jostled about soon after the start and far back for three-quarters, came with a rush thereafter and was rapidly wearing down BILLY JONES. CORINTO suffered mild interference soon after the break, was lucky to save ground much of the race and, but for stumbling in the stretch might have been a stronger factor. SALAAM showed good speed to the stretch, where he swerved when faltering. SPANISH BABE had no mishaps. BUCK LANGHORNE quit badly. WHISKOLO tired after five-eighths. POMPOSITY, badly outrun early, began to better his position racing wide after five-eighths, took command in the stretch and won thereafter. DARK WOMAN made the early pace well in hand, could not withstand the winner, but, holding on well, outlasted IRISH FORD. The latter was well in hand for five-eighths, then continued well under mild urging. WILD TURKEY could not get up. STAR BUD dropped out of it on the stretch turn. EL BAILARINO quit. DARK MIST, quickest to start but taken back as EVENING GOWN outran her on the second turn, stood a hard drive gamely and, wearing down EVENING GOWN, outfinished WEE EMMA. The latter, probably the best and shaken up several times during the early stages, was forced very wide by the winner when entering the stretch and stood mild pressure gamely to the last three-sixteenths. EVENING GOWN, well rated, raced into a good lead on the final turn and continued well to the final eighth before tiring. SLIP KNOT lost ground. The others had no mishaps.
