QUIVER, well rated for over half the distance, made her move approaching the stretch turn to head MOPECO and easily caught TRY IT in the stretch. MOPECO failed to make his move with QUIVER and, after being headed by the latter, was forced to come to the outside in the stretch, but closed well. EIGHTH POLE improved his position steadily and was going well at the finish. TRY IT was rushed to the front early to open up a long lead and had nothing left. WORLD OVER, easily best, was under restraint for first three-quarters, responded gamely to punishment, wore down LA SALLE on the lower turn, drew away into a long lead in the stretch and won with speed to spare. LA SALLE forced the early pace, raced ALAWITT into submission, but could not hold the winner. ALAWITT broke fast from the outside, saved ground while making the pace, but was tiring at the "end. DUNDREARY took the lead at the first turn, was rated along in front for the entire journey and jusi lasted to hold TIEDEMANN. TIEDEMANN lacked early speed, improved his position gradually and was wearing the winner down at the end. LILAC BLOOM raced into a contending position in the back stretch, but tired slightly nearing the finish. COUNTESS BYE dropped far back early, came to the outside on the lower tura and was going well at the end. DUG IN tired badly. FLYING ATOM showed some early speed. Overweight Countess Bye, 1 pound.
