STOP SCOUT, fractious at the post where he was placed on the outside, was rushed to the lead in the opening quarter, drew clear gradually after reaching the turn and, holding on fairly well, withstood CEALLAIGH in the drive. The latter, away fast and under light restraint for three-eighths, closed well, but failed to wear down the winner. SUN X., a factor from the start, was under strong riding the last three-eighths, but did not threaten the leaders. WAYGOOD LAD made up ground in the stretch. HAZEL EYE bore out badly on the turn. GOLD THORN, away slowly and taken back several times, in the first quarter, began to improve his position after swinging to the outside on the turn, easily disposed of RICKEY ROO and BOARD TRADE, but appeared to have little left. BOARD TRADE suffered light interference from RICKEY ROO when alternating with the latter in the early pacemaking, then tired badly after five-eighths, but outstayed RICKEY ROO. The latter bore over repeatedly in the early stages and swerved out when tiring in the final eighth. FLIGHT OF GOLD had no mishaps. The others were far back after three-eighths. BORDER QUEEN, under light weight and showing speed from the start, forced back DARK WOMAN when going to the front and, after opening up a good lead, continued well to win with something left. LEGAL GAMBLE raced wide throughout and, far back for three-quarters, closed strongly in a fine effort. KIEVSON, well up throughout and under restraint for about five-eighths, held on well. DONNAHONA, badly outrun to the stretch, closed fast on the outside. NAVAL CADET raced wide after five-eighths and tired after moving up in the stretch. DARK WOMAN was racing easily when impeded on the far turn, but tired in the final quarter. MANAGER BILL began well, but couid not keep up. The latter, on the inside throughout, displayed speed from the start, but tired in the drive and the race may benefit him. GALMICA, badly outrun early, came to the outside in the stretch, and made up ground in the final threo-sixtoecths. FLAVOR lost ground early, was taken to the inside in the stretch and tired in .the. late stages. AUGHT Y, away slowly, never threatened. PALM ISLAND failed to keep up. FRENCH BOY quit. INSCOLT, on the inside early, displayed good speed, swerved out in the stretch and held on fairly well, though no match for the winner. CALCULATOR bore to the inside sharply soon after the start and failed to rally to pressure, but was best of the others. BLACK BOTTLE, taken back early, raced evenly. The others, had no mishaps. DIANE S., a factor from the start, failed to withstand the leaders after reaching the front on.-, the stretch turn, but held on fairly well. SORCERY raced under strong restraint for three-quarters, faltered when placed to pressure, but came again. RICCIARDO raced wide. PALASA, forced to lose ground while bettering her position, closed resolutely, but could not menace the winner. KING PIN finished gamely under strong riding. THISTLE GENIE, on the inside after a half mile, tired after improving her position. WILD TRANSIT, rank at the post, broke slowly from the outside and was outrun. SCHUIE bore out badly oa the first turn, raced to the leaders, then tired. SOUTHLAND TOY quit Scratched 26663Major Greenock, 97.
