LADIES DAY AT RIVERSIDE Favorites and Well-Backed Horses Win Majority of Contests at Kansas City Course. KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 5 An off-day program of eight races was the Friday offering at Riverside Park and, while the majority of the card was , turned over to cheaper horses, interesting sport resulted, and favorites and well-backed horses won. It was Ladies Day, and a large number of the fair sex turned out and helped swell the crowd to unusual proportions for an off-day. Seafarer, from the stable of E. Drillon, making her first start of the year, was a driving winner of the first race, over the Futurity course, in which nine of the poorer sort went postward. A half length back of the winner came the pacemaking Moss Bond, which easily held secdhd place safe from Sister Vinie. Another favorite scored in the second race when Mrs. C. B. Irwins Jane Packard finished with a rush in the stretch to overtake Hard Boiled in the last few strides. Hard Boiled, after racing Dixie Binder into the ground, held on well to hold second place safe by less than a length from Windy Ross.
