ARLINGTON OFFICIALS SAME No Changes in Important Posts at Chicagos Big Northwest Side Course Carruthers Busy. No change in the staff of racing officials for its coming meeting is contemplated by the Arlington Park Jockey Club and the same corps of prominently-known and efficient racing men that served at Chicagb3 fashionable northwest side course last year will be on the ojb when the 1936 season opens on June 29, Roy R. Carruthers, general manager of the track, announced today. Chris. J. FitzGerald, Sr., and George Brown, Jr., as stwards; Charles J. McLennan as racing secretary and handicapper, and Roy Dickcrson, as starter, fill the key positions throught the entire span of Arlingtons five weeks of operation. Cary T. Grayson, Major Louie A. Beard and Arthur B. Hancock have been reappointed honorary stewards and will alternate in the stand. With general manager Carruthers directing them, preparations for the Arlington meet are progressing rapidly. Much work on improvements has been completed and stables are scheduled to begin moving in next week. The establishment of Norman W. Church will be among the first of importance to reach the northwest side track. Coming from California, it is expected next Wednesday. As a time and step saver for jockeys who ply their profession at Arlington, the riders quarters will be moved from its present location almost an eighth of a mile from the paddock, to the basement of the grand stand. Space adjoining the general offices will be used and the jockeys room will be one of the most complete and spacious in the country. Meanwhile nominations for five of the seven stakes to be run during the meeting are being received. The first entry for the 0,000 added Classic, fixture for three-year-olds to be renewed on July 25, was that of Mr. Bones, owned by Mrs. John Hay Whitney. Entries to the Classic, Stars and Stripes Handicap, Arlington Handicap, Hyde Park Stakes and Inaugural Handicap close June 15. Two other fixtures, the Arlington Futurity and Lassie Stakes, have been closed for some time. Ninety-six juvenile fillies remain eligible for the Lassie Stakes with 145 two-year-olds qualified to start in the Futurity. Final payments to the Lassie and Futurity were made on May 15 last.
