CARNARVON broke fast, stole into a long lead in the first eighth and continued to increase its advantage the remainder of the trip. AERIALIST, well tip at all times, shook off HI-VIC in the stretch, but could not reach the leader. HI-VIC showed good speed at all times, but tired slightly when put to the final drive. BOOM TOWN lacked early speed and closed some ground at the end. RELIANT quit after going three-eighths. FRASCATI lacked speed at all times and ran a dull race. MORNING DREAM forced the pace from the start, came slightly wide entering the stretch and. wore down UNCLE JULY to win in the last stride. UNCLE JULY moved around the leaders on the stretch turn, disposed of ARGUEFICATION. secured a clear lead, but tired again right at the end while finishing next to the inner rail. ARGUEFICATION lushed to the front in the first eighth, displayed keen speed for five-eighths, but quit badly in the last part and barely held off HALLOO. The latter, also forced to race wide, finished with a belated rush 4on the extreme .outside. LIGHT WEIGHT, quit badly. BEDIGHT rushed to the front at the break, made all the pace, but had to be shaken up during the last eighth to hold off SCINTILLA. The latter, reserved the first half mile, moved up with good courage on the turn, but faltered after getting on almost even terms. KEYED UP, in close quarters the first quarter, was taken to the outside and closed up fast when clear. PROSECUTOR broke well, but could not match strides with the leaders and dropped back after a half mile. TEDDY CARL, far back for the first half mile, showed a good burst of speed rounding the turn and finished going fastest. MOLLY tired after showing some speed in the early stages. TRAMWAY took command leaving the back stretch, was under mild pressure the last eighth and held IDLE MONEY safe. The latter, slow to cot going, circled its field fast on the outside rounding the stretch turn, made up some ground, but could not reach the winner. SIGHTING BAR, shuffled back when the jam came, gained steadily while saving ground rounding the turn, then hung during the final drive. THE REW, away fast, sprinted into the lead, swerved over slightly when drawing clear, then dropped back sharply rounding the turn and came on again in the last quarter. MISS MARED had no excuses. JUNIORITY and CALGARY KAY got into a jam and went down. SINGING HEART was up with the pace throughout, lost some ground on the turn, responded with good courage when called upon in the stretch and got up to outstay JOYRIDE. The latter began slow, slipped through on the inner rail rounding the turn, secured a brief lead in the stretch, but could not hold the winner off. ELDEE forced the pace at all times and dropped back slightly when put to the fin test; OUR CREST broke sluggishly, rushed up into contention, but the effort told and she retired again in the. las,t part. WISE ANNE, well up for the first quarter, was shuffled back at the far turn and could never .again reach the leaders. STONE MARTIN, under heavy restraint while racing with the pace, secured the lead midway of the stretch turn, but could not hold, the winners final rush. SAY DO broke in motion, was permitted to step around the first turn,, was then taken in hand while still maintaining the pace, but flattened out when the real test came. GRANDPAS BOY came on again after dropping back in the first three-quarters. BLAKEEN showed much early , speed, but tired when the real test came. KINDACORN was outrun throughout. ANNARITA broke fast, sprinted around the first turn, was given a breathing spell midway of the back stretch, moved ujj again between the leaders at the far turn, regained command, but could not hold off the winner.- SAND CLOUD, well back for the first three-quarters, finished fast. FLAT ROCK, a trailer for seven-eighths, passed tiring horses. SALUT DAMOUR, a forward contender for three-quarters, quit. MANUAL, forced back on the rail at the first turn, was taken to the outside in the back stretch, moved into the lead, but tired "when the real test came and quit badly. The latter raced up with a rush on the outside through the back stretch, got on even terms with the winner, but faltered when the final test came. PLAYOFF showed much speed at all times and held on well, though tiring in the last quarter. GOLDFIN. far back for seven-eighths, made up much ground. JIM BROWN quit after going three-quarters.
