I AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES : Merry Maker was claimed out of the fourth race for ,500 by Kay Kamen. The latter is a newcomer to racing whose horses are in ,care of Willie Shea. Baseball was well represented during the afternoon. Charles Dresden and a party from the Cincinnati club were on hand, while "Beans" Reardon represented the umpires. Pete Coyne will ship six horses to Arlington Park for J. E. Widener this week-end, while jockey W. D. Wright will leave Sunday. The Southland Stable, in charge of Cliff Porter, leaves for Chicago Thursday. A. A. Baroni stated that he believed that Top Row would be ready for strenuous racing at Saratoga, according to training plans. At private terms, Matt Brady, acting for the Middleburg Stable, sold to Clarence Turner the filly Polychrome. Scrooge, owned by J. E. Widener, was gelded and will be laid up for the Saratoga season. A meeting of the stewards of The Jockey Club will be held Friday at 250 Park Avenue. James Fitzsimmons, Jr., is improving steadily, according to reports from Sheeps-head Bay. Ben Leslie Behr purchased from Thomas Hitchcock the jumper Baffler for a reported price of ,000 and turned the horse over to G. O. Miles to train. Mr. Behr has two legs on the Maryland Hunt Cup and will try to, .gain permanent possession this fall.
