GREY STREAK, a strong factor from the start, raced into a good lead soon after reaching the stretch, then tired and appeared lucky to win. FIRE STAR, quick to begin but taken back on the turn and timidly handled soon after reaching the stretch, closed strongly after coming out in the final eighth and may have been best. BONNIE DREAM took command quickly, was raced very wide on the far turn, appeared to be racing easily when overtaken by the winner in the stretch, where she was on the inside and responded to urging in the late stages. RUBANS CHOICE, far out in the track much of the race, did not menace the leaders, but held on fairly well, though bearing over in the final eighth. TORNILLO could not get to the leaders and was in close quarters near the finish. STOLEN COLOR lacked speed. POMPARAGON showed nothing. CAPTAIN JEFFERS reared at the start. PHALASAN stumbled slightly shortly after the start, saved ground on the turn, raced between horses entering the final eighth and, coming to the outside of PRINCESS BULL in the final sixteenth, appeared ready to draw out. The latter, under vigorous riding throughout, swerved out slightly in the stretch and held on well, but failed to withstand the winner. POMPOUS GENIE, forced to lose much ground and slow to respond to pressure, came around WOODWAY and JOCKANA in the last eighth and withstood OUR PATTYS rush. BUSHMASTER displayed speed under hustling tactics, slowly gave way to the winner, but tired badly in the last sixteenth; CAPTAIN JOY held on courageously in a good, effort. KIEVSON lost much ground. BLUE TRAIN, lucky and going in his best form, was under light restraint for a half mile, came through on the inside when responding to strong handling in the drive and pulled away in the closing strides. ROGUISH GIRL, also under restraint until reaching the final quarter and a strong factor from the start, raced to the lead gradually and held on well, but was not good enough. LADY MONTROSE, away slowly and raced wide, came with a rush after entering the stretch, but faltered near the end. LADY THATCHER displayed good speed from the start, swerved out in the stretch and tired after five-eighths. BOOTLESS, badly outrun from the start, swerved to the inside when entering the stretch and, after coming out, closed with a rush. BAMBOO, bewcen horses in. the opening quarter, could not reach the leaders when clear and dropped back in the stretch.
