I DETROIT TURF NOfES 1 8 George Leeds reports Sir Ten has been fired and will be rested until fall, and that he has taken Colonel Ed out of training. Acting for George Raush, Lou Anger purchased the plater Nawab from Jack Webber. Jockey L. Turner reported ill, and J. Bryson substituted for him on Nanking in the first race. J. S. Young sent Lee Wee and Adelette to his farm near Lexington, Ky.f where they will be turned out until fall. Jack Webber loaded the J. S. Riley horses Wednesday afternoon, and they departed for Arlington Park. J. K. Macomber, steward representing the California Racing Commission, stopped off en route from his home to Niagara Falls. From there he will go to New England. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Howard, whose horses are trained by Tom Smith, arrived from their California home. Coramine, one of the best of their juveniles, will fill her engagement in the Woodward Stakes, and then will be shipped to Arlington Park for a stakes engagement. The others of the Howard stable will be shipped to Empire City at the close of this meeting. William Woollatt, general manager of the Devonshire track, was a visitor. He stated that preparations for the opening of the ten-day meeting at that track on July 8 were going forward at a fast pace. Several stables that were unable to secure accom-. modations at Thistle Down will be sent from here to the Windsor track.
