THISTLE NIRA, far back early, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and, finishing gamely under punishment, wore down INDEPENDENT WAY in the last few strides. The latter, well placed in the early going, wore down the leaders on the lower turn, drew away into a eood lead entering the stretch and held on gamely. MISS ESTHER closed gamely in the final quarter mile. "CUT PRICE started from outside the gate, raced wide all the way and finished gamely. BUNTINGON bustled into the lead from the start, but tired badly in the last quarter. SWEET MANNERS was outrun. Scratched 34385 Runmilton, 105. Won driving; second and third the same. COMRADESHIP, far back early, moved up gradually in the last half mile, closed gamely in the stretch, wore down SCROLL and was drawing away at the end. SCROLL, also far back early, moved up fast when called upon, took a short lead in the stretch and foueht it out gamely in the drive. LIGHTIN BILL saved ground entering the stretch and finished gamely. CULLODEN raced on the inside all the way in the deepest going, took a long lead after going a mile, but tired in the stretch. BABOO raced wide all the way and quit badly. KAPOSIA tired in the stretch. Scratched 34747 Tiedemann. 101.
