LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS Frank Chojnacki, Cicero, 111., boy who headed American riders consistently fo.r .the last few months, maintained his hold on first; place but lost ground to Basil James, who gained three winning mounts on the Cicero boy by riding seven winners last week while Chojnacki was riding only four. As a result, Chojnacki now has 198 winners and James 191. James is now well within striking distance of Chojnacki. Johnny Longden dropped back in the" race when he rode only one winner last week, his total for the year now reading 184 winners. J. Adams took last: weeks honors when he rode ten winners.
