I BUSY WEEK FOR LEXINGTON . Initial Meeting at Keeneland and Auction of Thoroughbreds. Race Meeting Opens October 15 While Sale of Mares and Yearlings Begins on October 19. a. 3 LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 12. David iHar-ums by the score will flock, to Lexington during the opening of the beautiful -new Keeneland race course to "swap horses" in the modern sales ring of E. J. "Jimmy" Tranter. Five mornings and nights of thoroughbred sales are scheduled to be conducted during the first race meeting ever staged at the new race track. More than six hundred thoroughbreds have been consigned to the auction ring at the Lexington sales paddock, located near Lexington on the Paris road. The consignors are many of the best-known breeders and owners in. America and: their offerings include breeding stock, yearlings and horses in training. The number of thoroughbreds offered makes up one of the largest catalogs ever arranged for the annual fall sales here. Auctions will start Monday, .October 19, and continue each morning arid evening except Thursday night, through,- Friday, October 23. Thursday night has been reserved for the Thoroughbred Club of Americas annual testimonial dinner. t Breeding sfock will be soldeach inorning and yearlings will be offered each night Among the prominent consignors are Willis Sharpe Kilmers Court Manor Stud, dispersal or the estate, of Archwood Manor H.
