Following the close of the Illinois racing season judge Chris J. FitzGerald, steward of the Illinois Racing Commission, will leave for his home in Greenwich, Conn. He plans to return to Illinois to accept an invi- l tation to hunt with friends and also to visit in Kentucky before going to California to serve at Santa Anita. Another to check in from Akron was H. Davis with five he is racing for N. E. Shop. They are Rosa Dear, Brilliant Pal, Scottys Pride, Line Drive and Best Man. In addition to the horses ho is racing for his wife, Clarence E. Dale has the two-year-old filly Sunny Sethina for C. F. Taylor. H. Coghill with Dark Amber, Dusky Lass, Miss Higgins, Carus and Potestas came here from Riverside Park several days ago. In addition to training three horses for his wife, trainer H. Hockenbury is directing the conditioning of the two-year-old Nim, owned by W. H. Goelitz. Coming from Ohio, E. J. Woods brought McKell, Castle Cliff and Uncle Mike for C. A. Werline, and Exclusive for Mrs. H. Woods. Ike Seybold was another to come from Ohio. He brought with him The Nile, Verna T., Easy Flight, Oh Ray and Buddys Choice. Jack Klucina has eight horses here for various owners. They arc Ralph C, Win-gate and Bob Weidel, owned by Mrs. J.. Holub; Pursuit and Drino, the property of Mrs. H. Howard; Equation, owned by H. C. Hoffman, and Bar Play and Grandmas Girl, owned by E. McGrath. Pursuit and Drino have been put back in training after having been turned out for nearly a year at the farm of K. Mayer near Rochelle, 111. Jockey Harold Tinker came in from New England, while Milton Terry, H. Chinn and F. Slamey checked in from Kansas City. Another to come from Kansas City was jockey R. Tilden. J. P. Keezek over the week-end received the two-year-old Mahmowd from the Chap-pel Brothers farm near Rockford, 111. He now has eleven horses here for the Chappel Brothers, while another division of the stable includes nine, which are in charge of J. P. Ebelhardt. Lo, Sweep, Stimulator, Miss Princess and Quick Decision are the horses which the veteran Tim Smith is training here for various owners. Trainer V. Carmichael was an arrival here from Ohio with a division of the C. E. Davison stable. The horses are Rapid Bells, Barrido and Little Coquina. He also has Cabotin for D. Livingston. S. Campagnas Skid has been put back Into training in charge of T. A. Janicki, and is quartered at Hawthorne. Trainer E. Louden came in from Ohio with Scout Brigade and Miss Lulu for Jewel Brothers. In a private transaction at Sportsmans Park, Monday, H. LaBuff bought Trek from Mrs. J. Hanover. D. Womeldorff will train the veteran plater. Another arrival here from Kansas City was R. B. Bridwell, who brought with him the horses Ruckie, Sisko, Royal Purchase and Probationer. They are the property of various owners. W. J. Jenkinson, with Its Keen, Keen Gloaming, Keenest, Sweetest Heart and Copper Lad moved over from Washington Park, Sunday. According to Robert S. Shelley, racing secretary and general manager, 1,160 stalls here and at Hawthorne have been assigned for the accommodation of stables for the present meeting. The stable of J. P. Macey, consisting of eight head, arrived from Montreal. Lovey Lions, four-year-old maiden owned by H. Stehr, arrived here from the Stehr farm near Holland, Minn. C. L. Holland sold Anapola to Mrs. I. Kara at private terms here Monday morning, but Holland will continue to train the horse. The horses Whistling Boy, Teenie R. and La Mascote, owned by J. A. and V. Dennis of Kansas City, were registered by J. A. Dennis, who is training the trio. The horses of A. and H. Lederer, which have been resting for two months, are to resume racing here. They are Full Fling, High Power, Miss Blanche and Commis-l sioner Kennedy, the latter having filled sev-I eral engagements at Lincoln Fields. J. J. OByrne, with Chrysostom, Jokester, Fleet Jest, Vici, King of Spades, Goldie Lass and Dark Mistress, is here for the meeting The latter three juveniles were transferred here from the farm in Indiana several weeks ago. J. C. McAuliffe has taken over Kildee Mary to train for C. W. Snow. J. Bolser with American Red and West Star was an arrival from Akron. The former is owned by L. B. Maxwell, and the latter by E. A. Moran.
