NEW KEENELAND TRACK READY FOR INAUGURAL LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 10. Keeneland Association has its magnificent plant ready for the opening of its inaugural race meeting next Thursday afternoon. The public has been invited to visit the park tomorrow afternoon at 3 oclock for a demonstration of the totalizator, and the expectation is that there will be a large crowd, weather permitting. It has been raining intermittently for three days and the track is muddy, but if there is a cessation of the very welcome heavy showers the footing will be good, if not fast, for the opening. President Hal Price Headley will be back from Chicago Sunday morning to welcome visitors during the afternoon and to remain until the close of the meeting. Major Louie A. Beard, who has given much time and attention to the building of the new plant, was here, there and everywhere this morning, assisting general manager Roy Carruthers in the finals of the preliminaries. Howard "Babe" Wells, with horses belonging to. Howard Oots, E. C. Hamilton and others, arrived from Chicago this morning. Clifford Porter is here with Charles Bach-arachs Southland Stable horses. Ray Kin-nerd is in with Myrtlewood and others oi Brownell Combs string. I ! I i
