Won driving; second and third the same. LUCKY PLEDGE broke fast and showed speed from the start, raced CELTIC LEGEND into defeat and idrew away in the final sixteenth. PROXIMITY worked her way up steadily on the outside, responded to urging in the stretch run and outlasted RITORNO in the final strides. RITORNO was kept close up under restraint, responded to pressure in the stretch run and held on well. KITTY REIGII was outrun in the early stages and made up ground slowly. ELDEE improved her position rapidly when called upon, was steered to the inside of the leaders entering the stretch and drew away in the final sixteenth. LOTOFUS forced the pace from the start on the outside of FLOPSIE, came again in the stretch and finished with good courage. FLOPSIE was rushed into command after the break, bore out rounding the stretch turn and then faltered in the final drive. MELODY MAID worked her way up on the outside from a slow beginning and finished fast. WISE WILL was outrun from the start. SAXOPAL quit badly under urging. Scratched 34897 Second Guess, 110. IDLE MIDGET was rushed into command after the break, drew away into a long lead, saved ground entering the stretch and outlasted HANDLE CROSS in the final drive. HANDLE CROSS broke slowly out of hand, moved up fast under urging and was wearing the winner down in the final drive. HIS NIBS began slowly, but moved up fast when called upon and outlasted HIGH.MOST in the final drive. The latter worked his way up from a slow beginning and closed with determination on the outside. COMPANY had no mishaps in the running. FLYANETTA, on the inside, was in close quarters at the far turn. GRAND JESTER had so mishaps. Scratched 35209 Bravo Caruso, 111. Overweight Highmost, 1 pound. BYRNE was badly outrun in the carlv stazes. worked his way up on the outside, responded to urging in the stretch and wore down MISS MERRIMENT in the last strides. The latter broke out of hand and forced the pace from the start, disposed of STUBBS in the stretch and held on gamely to the end. EXHIBIT raced evenly in the early stages and responded gamely when called upon in the final eighth to outstay STUBBS. The latter showed high early speed, but quit badly in the final eighth.
