! SPORTSMANS PARK NOTES j s An arrival here Saturday morning from Montreal was J. P. Macey, who brought with him six horses. They were Learoyd, Immune, Red Vamp, Butterfly, Dr. Jillson and The Millay. Jockey L. Wilson, Saturday, began a three-day suspension meted out to him for disobedience while at the post for the third race here Friday. Another arrival from Montreal was L. H. Mehrmann, who came in with four three-year-olds he plans to race here the rest of the meeting. They are Brother Newt, John Bane, High Dry and Contour Circle. H. R. Smith brought in three horses, Surly, owned by himself, and Authority and Tartan Betsy, the property of Mrs. C. Marsch. They are quartered at Hawthorne. C. L. Lowenstein arrived here Saturday from Kentucky with his wife and plans to remain for the rest of the meeting. George Neal, with the horses he conditions for Mrs. L. Hartrick, was the first to leave for Texas. N. W. Buckharts band went in the same shipment. Dave Shaw departed for Lexington to attend the yearling sales. J. A. Gavidia arrived here over the weekend from Canada with six head he plans to campaign through the rest of the local meeting. The string consists of Toast Master, Justa Teacher, Waltz King, Parade On, Lucid and Lookout Hill. In a private transaction at Sportsmans Park, Monday morning, B. F. Pumphrey bought the seven-year-old gelding Fabius from I. J. Killion. Pumphrey will train the veteran himself. Another arrival from Canada over the week-end was Harry Rowe, who brought with him five horses, the property of Mrs. H. J. Percy. The racers are Marquis Docile. Dark Devil, More Time, Chardie and Blue John. C A. Pugh registered Line of Fire and Dunce, both of which are his own property. The two horses which Mrs. Charles Eames has here in charge of her husband are Dr. Jillson and The Millay. Jockey Joe Marinelli was expected here and will begin accepting mounts at the local course Tuesday.
